How often should upholstered office chairs be cleaned?

Commercial upholstery should be cleaned at least once a year by a professional cleaning service that knows how to remove maximum soil, perhaps twice a year in heavy use situations. The increased use life of the upholstery and the savings in productivity will pay for the cost of cleaning.

I think I can clean my soft furnishings myself, is this recommended?

It is highly recommended that a professional cleaner is used. There are many items available to the public that are advertised for carpet and upholstery cleaning. However, along with these come many risks and the potential of causing irreversible damage. We have the correct training and knowledge, along with access to professional products, to ensure that a correct and safe job is carried out and the best possible results are achieved.

Will all the stains come out?

No guarantee can be made that any particular stain will be removed. Some stains permanently damage the carpet fibres and no amount of specialist cleaning will reverse this. We have received advanced training for spot and stain removal and will be able to deal with most problems. If you have a stain you are concerned about, discuss it with a member beforehand and they will be happy to advise.

What is the IICRC?

The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) was formed in 1972 to serve as an independent, non-profit certification body. They aim to set and promote high standards and ethics, and to advance communication and technical proficiency within the inspection, cleaning and restoration service industry.

What is your method for cleaning upholstery?

First, we thoroughly vacuum the upholstery to remove dry and loose dirt, before applying our eco- friendly cleaning solution. We then agitate the solution with a brush or microfibre cloth. For particularly dirty upholstery, we use a specially designed upholstery cleaning tool attachment. This deep rinses the dirt from the fabric and is quick drying. We would advise applying Protect Nano to your upholstery once it is clean.

What is Protect Nano?

Protect Nano is a water based fluorochemical polymer that can be used to protect carpets and upholstery from both dry and oil/water based soiling. When applied to a fibre, the treatment forms an invisible, protective, UV stable and breathable barrier. It does not change the look or feel of the fibre. Spillages should not be left untreated and should be removed by lightly blotting the surface with a dry absorbent cloth.
